Carl Lyons
Carl is a coach, writer, creative and entrepreneur. He is the CEO of We Are Conscious, a company that delivers mental and physical health solutions into organisations and coaches individuals to achieve optimum performance.
My Story
Carl started life as an engineer and held many senior roles in one of the biggest chemical companies in the world.
Carl has been a yoga practitioner and teacher for over 20 years and a dedicated meditator for over 30. He left the corporate world in 1998 and lived and studied yoga, ayurveda and Sanskrit in India with Acharya V Vasudevan. He followed this personal transformation with another undergraduate degree in Ayurvedic Medicine in London.
He continued this pursuit of his passion with research and writing in the area of integrated health and the influence of Eastern Vedic philosophy in Western business practice.
As an entrepreneur and writer he has run his own businesses for over 25 years and until recently he was the Chief Executive Officer of Peopleistic, a values-driven international education and performance company with offices in Australia and USA.
He ran regular health and yoga retreats and was the founder of the Yoga Teacher Database which was designed to build a community of validated teachers that were placed in organisations throughout London.
He was featured in A&C Black’s ‘Good small business guide’; a guide to help entrepreneurs start and build their own business.
He is the author of three highly acclaimed books: Skilful Living; integrated health for busy people, I Win, You Win; the essential guide to principled negotiation and Humanistic Business; Profit through People with Passion and Purpose. His current publisher is Bloomsbury plc.
He was also a regular contributor to BBC 1’s Heaven and Earth Show as a coach helping people to improve their lives and has written many articles for publications about self-awareness and health.
He lead a large research study, in partnership with a leading London University, into the development of Conscious Business. The project is designed to help raise consciousness and sustainability in business and shape the companies of the future.
He lives in Central London.
